About Demian
Demian Kurosa, Gouda 1986.
As a child I was taught through various methods that I could express myself through drawing. I always dreamed away, in a world of my own. Drawing gave me a hyperfocus, in which I could get lost and that never disappeared.
At the age of 18 I got an opportunity to apprentice at a small tattoo studio nearby. From there I learned to understand the profession more and more and put all my time into doing what was meant for me: tattooing. From old school to lettering, Japanese, Polynesian, Chicano, I liked all the styles. I tried to put myself in a wide range, because I could never choose.
I was an all round tattoo artist, as long as I could design and work it out on the skin.
In all styles I was always in love with the solid pieces, the more black in it, the more contrast I could see with the skin. I started to focus more on mixing different styles with more black, and found out that I really liked patterns and solid blackwork. I also became interested in minimalism, tribalism, patterns, as long as it was black.
I had my own tattoo studio for 10 years and did this with great success, until the last day. But minimizing my life went so far that I wanted more freedom and so I sold my studio. Free as a bird I could go wherever I wanted and I've been letting myself be led through life ever since. Go with the flow.
Now arriving at Abattoir tattoo, I feel this place has a lot to offer, and I can also give a lot back to this place. I was amazed at how nice the team is that I get to work with now. New impulses, challenge, nice customers, I get happy just thinking about it!

Let me know your ideas. Be as thorough as you can: size, placement, reasons why, etc.
I'm always open to brainstorm about your tattoo if you're not sure about the design or placement. Looking forward to work with you!
